Dr Tiancun Xiao
Co-founder & CEO
Tiancun is an expert in petrochemicals research and focus on clean renewable energy and catalytic processes, co-authored over 150 scientific publications and an inventor with over 30 patents. He was the co-founder of Oxford Catalysts (now rebranded as Velocys) which successfully floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.
Dr Zhaoxi Zhang
Co-founder & CTO
Zhaoxi is co-inventor and entrepreneurial co-founder of Oxford Sustainable Fuels. Zhaoxi is responsible for R&D operations and continually driving technological breakthrough and improvement for the company. Zhaoxi Zhaoxi obtained first degree in Chemical engineering, MSc in Engineering process and also holds a D.Phil Inorganic Chemistry from Oxford University, specialising in petrochemical field and has numerous patents and publications within the oil refining sector.
Ben is a Chemical Engineer bringing years of experience from the petrochemical, refining and fuels sectors holding positions spanning from process engineering through marketing, product management and strategic insight. He provides OSF with extensive experience to translate customer and market needs to R&D for effective product development together with day to day company management.

Prof. Peter Edwards
Prof. Edwards was formerly Head of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Oxford. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (1996), the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina (2009), Professor of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Einstein (2011) and International Member of the American Philosophical Society (2012). Received the Hughes Medal (2003) Bakerian Medal (2012) of the Royal Society. He is a global alternative energy expert. Core research areas include hydrogen storage, decarbonization of fossil fuels to combat climate change.
Professor Vernon Gibson
Prof. Gibson was appointed Executive Director of the BP International Centre for Advanced Materials. He was Chief Scientific Adviser to the Ministry of Defence from 2012 to 2016 and Chief Chemist at BP plc from 2008 to 2012. He developed an international reputation for his fundamental studies on metal complexes and discoveries of new catalyst systems for the production of commercially relevant polymers.
Professor Peter Dobson
Prof. Dobson was formerly Head of Oxford University Innovation, He has had a broad career covering a wide range of disciplines from physics and chemistry to materials science and engineering. He had also worked in industry (Philips) as well as academia (Imperial College and Oxford). Prof. Dobson has published over 180 papers and 33 patents. He is also an experienced entrepreneur who founded several companies and advised on a number of start-ups.
